Presentation and Discussion of Historic Postcards featured in the new book, Walker County: A Postcard History

On October 18, 2017, the Walker County Historical Commission will exhibit and discuss a set of historic postcards that will be included in the organization's new publication Walker County: A Postcard History. The City of Huntsville generously provided funding to support the collection of postcards from Walker County. Librarians at SHSU then digitized the postcards, and a team including Jeffrey L. Littlejohn, James Patton, Donna Coffen, Tom Rogers, Briana Weaver, Jami Horne, Carolyn Carroll, and Brooke Franks met to organize and catalog the cards. This presentation is free and open to the public. It will take place at the Katy and E. Don Walker, Sr. Educational Center at 5:00 p.m. For more information on the event, call 936-435-2497.
